How to detect if user is banned, and for how long?

For example when I will be banned and i try to login. Reactor return ReactorEvent.CLOSE and I will got message "Connection Unavailable. Please try again later." But how to detect that I was banned and for how long before connection will be closed? and display message "You are banned for X hours + ban reason" insted of message from ReactorEvent.CLOSE listener?

I'm using AS3 API
