No Java runtime present..

It's been a while since I last started Union server up on my MacBook. Since then I've upgraded to Yosemite. Now, when I start the server I get a message that there's no Java runtime installed. I click on 'More info...' and then update my Java (version 8) and still no joy. Are there any system environment variables I need to change in order to run the server under Yosemite? Any ideas?

Apparently, Yosemite does not include any form of Java so you need to download this version from apple: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1572

Then the server seems to work fine.
